About: who, what, when, where, how, etc

Lynchpin Pictures is the rather transparent flagship for multifarious and award winning filmmaker Kelly Lynch who is otherwise stumbling, hovering, and rocketing through life.

Having written and directed short films on 35mm, 16mm, SD, and HD in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, Lynch has managed to become an accomplished independent filmmaker.

His variety of credits on numerous student films and independent features vary from director, cinematographer, actor, editor and sound design. His performance credits aren’t limited to the screen, as he is also a veteran performer and improv actor.

His eclectic background and variety of skills is proven by his placing as one out of 44,000 applicants picked to intern at Universal Studios in 2005. He has written columns and film reviews syndicated by the New York Times Wire Service and his photographs and feature stories have been showcased in three national publications, including Trains Magazine. In 2006, Lynch won 2nd place in the Indiana College Press Association for Best Advertisement Design, where he also won 2nd place for Best Editorial Cartoon the previous year. He was awarded for Outstanding Performance Achievement and Outstanding Technical Achievement in the Performing Arts by Dekalb Eastern Schools and is a 2005 alum of the New York Film Academy.

An advocate of historic preservation, Lynch helps preserve, operate, and promote historic steam locomotives, railroads, and related museums around the country. For this work, Lynch was featured in Trains Magazine as one of the Under 35 Leaders in the Railroad Preservation Industry in 2006 and his creative accomplishments for preservation were recognized by the Center for Railroad Photography and Art in 2007. Currently, he is the Communications Manager and Director for the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society. In addition, he has also worked for Apple Inc., Punch Films, Towers Productions, NBC/Universal, as well as the National Railway Historical Society, Ohio Central Railroad and RJ Corman Railroad.

In 2008, Lynch won First Place in the Indianapolis Really Big Short Film Festival and earned Best Frontier Film in the Windsong International Film Festival for his film “The Passenger,” and is now at work in the film and video production field.
